Scholars' Retreat As our community of scholars, donors and volunteers grows, we want to provide opportunities for our family to come together. To that end, we re-launched a weekend retreat for all current Loran scholars, which we plan to host on the second-last weekend of August every year. The retreat was a tradition in the early years of the program, when scholars would gather in Prince Edward County. In the last few years this tradition had been lost.
Thanks to the financial support of our donors, and in particular The W. Garfield Weston Foundation and Enbridge Gas Distribution, we brought it back and now provide travel grants to our scholars, making it possible for those outside Ontario to attend.
